RIVERSIDE V ENDERBY FOXES REDS

The game went well and there was a few dodgy moments, but apart from that we played very well.

It was windy during the match and we managed to keep Enderby for a good 2-2 draw at home for our first match.

Riley and I scored the first goals of our new season.

Greg Evans, Match Captain

RIVERSIDE V ROTHLEY IMPS

This was our second match of the new season.

We played Rothley away and we won 3-1.  It was a good game and both teams played well, with Rothley hitting the post so many times.

Callum was our goalkeeper and saved a few shots - a good job he did!

A good game was had by both teams and well done to Riverside.  Here's to many more wins!

Riverside v Highfield Rangers Lions

The game started with a Highfield kick off.  We started well untill one of the players hit the ball over my hands which made it 1-0.

It was the second half and our kick off.   It was a corner to Highfields and by accident I put the ball into my own net.  2-0 down.

With only 10 minutes left, I kicked the ball out to Ben on the wing, Ben kicked the ball in the air to Greg and he headed it in with a brilliant back header - 2-1 down now.

It was the final few minutes when Highfield got into the box and smashed it into the back of the net.  We lost 3-1 on a very hot day.

Callum Cassidy, Match Captain

Riverside v Quorn Foxes

I was very proud to be captain today.

Me and Taylor B were in defence and Greg scored his first hat trick.  Callum made some extremely good saves again.

Our team was wicked, we played well and passed well, and won 4.2.

I think the other team played well as well.

Owen Claasz, Match Captain

Riverside v Shepshed Dynamo

I was pleased that Paul chose me to be captain today, we played against Shepshed.

It was quite windy and on a sloped pitch.

We found it hard going and were unlunky in the first half as they scored 3 goals, but I did hit the post with our best chance, then in the second half they scored another 4, so I think they were alot better than us.

Their passing was excellent and it gave us something to work on in our training sessions.

Riverside v Rothley Imps

On a sunny 4th December, Riverside faced Rothley Imps.  They looked strong in 2nd place, while we had lost three out of three games.

At kick off, Rothley looked very strong.  In the first half they forced us to play defensive but they struggled to find the target, and at the end of the first half it was 0-0.

Second half we had improved and Callum Cassidy and Greg Evans ran forwards and Greg passed to Callum, Callum shot and scored. 1-0 to Riverside.  Meanwhile at the other end, we nearly conceeded a home goal!

Rothley had lots more chances, hitting the cross bar and the post, but could not score.  The game ended 1-0 to us turning our run of defeats around.

Riverside v Rothley Imps - Managers Comments

After defeats in the previous 3 games, the team stood up to the mark today with a 'team performance' in all areas of the playing field.

They tackled, chased and passed the ball very well today and against everything Rothley threw at us, and they threw everything at us, they defended brilliantly to come away with a 1-0 win.

Well done to all.

Paul Cassidy, Team Manager

Riverside V Highfield Rangers

We played Highfield on Sunday 15th January 2012 and we played at home.  We started the match well with Taylor in goal first half and they scored 3 goals, with a home goal.

Then in the second haf, Ben went in goal and they got another 5 goals.  We didn't seem to keep up with them and we did have a few trys on goal, but with no luck.  Not a goof game for us!!

Taylor Bunting - Match Captain

Riverside V Quorn Foxes

The match began with a Quorn kick off.  After a few minutes, Ben for Riverside scored a good goal.  1-0 Riverside.

In a few more minutes, Quorn scored, 1-1.  Another minute later, Quorn scored again. 2-1 to Quorn.

In the second half Quorn had a chance but I punched the ball over the ball.

Then, Riverside scored a second goal and made it 2-2.  In the final minutes of the match, a Quorn player hit the bar and the rebound didn't make over the line.

2-2 was the final score.
